About the Band

From an idea conceived in the summer of 1993, Doncaster Concert Band (DCB) played its inaugural concert in January 1994. Over recent years this South Yorkshire Wind Band has developed into a successful group of talented musicians performing regularly at outdoor venues and concert halls, priding itself on a challenging repertoire.

Players in the band come from from all walks of life and it strives to be a community band, fulfilling its original aim of providing ongoing musical experience for people who have left school.

The band is a registered charity (Charity no. 1039772) and supports many local and national causes from its concert proceeds. The charity we are supporting this year is Sheffield Cystic Fibrosis Appeal.

We are very fortunate to be led by Karen Roberts, a conductor who has a clear vision about the direction of the band. She aims to build on its extensive repertoire whilst achieving the highest standard of performance.

The band rehearsals are weekly on Thursday evenings, if you are interested in joining, then please click here for further details.
